Volunteer Firefighter From Region Who Died At Age 33 Was 'Excited To Become Father'

Colleagues and loved ones are mourning the loss of a volunteer firefighter and expectant father from the region following his death.

William Wade, of Halfmoon in Saratoga County, died at home Tuesday, Oct. 4 at the age of 33, according to his obituary. A cause of death was not given.

Born in Schenectady on Nov. 14, 1988 to parents Thomas Wade and Eileen Brown, Wade was later employed as a carrier for Fed Ex in Menands, his memorial said.

He was also a volunteer firefighter for the Carman Fire Company, located in Rotterdam.

“One of the best employees with a great sense of humor and always a pleasure to be around,” reads a post on his memorial wall from a former Fed Ex co-worker, who identified herself as Aimee.

“I knew he was excited to become a father and words cannot express how much our hearts break for you all,” she continued.

“Will, you will be missed by everyone here at AGT Services,” reads another post. “Our condolences to your family.”

Wade is survived by his mother, Eileen; brothers, Matthew and Nicholas Wade; and his aunt, Carol Wade, his obituary said.

Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 14, at Bond Funeral Home in Schenectady.

Relatives said in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Wade’s name can be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York in Albany.
